Now you know how much electricity you could produce and the possible income now we must look at the fitting.

We sell kits in 4 sizes approximating to 1kw, 2kw, 3kw and 4kw. Our fitted kits include meters (OFGEM approved), wiring, warning signs etc. If you buy just the kit you will need to buy these items elsewhere (your local hardware shop should stock them).

Our MCS Accredited fitters can fit the system for you, you can fit it yourself or we can share the work. Please read the details below carefully.

• Fitted by our MCS Accredited Fitter

  Our prices are based on an MCS accredited fitter, fully trained and insured, carrying out the work. Prices are subject to change for unforeseen difficulties, for example if access is restricted. If you are worried please contact us so that we can discuss your circumstances.

  The fitter will complete all the necessary paperwork for you to claim the Feed In Tariff. There will be guarantees for all parts and workmanship.

  You may need planning permission and building regs.

      - Planning permission for solar PV is normally not required by most councils unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or near a major road. Please check with your council on their policy.

      - Building Regs. Most roofs are more than capable of taking the weight of the solar panels. Many planning departments will give advice. We would recommend that unless you are 100% certain you request a local structural surveyor to check out your roof.

  We can undertake this for you but there is a charge.

• Fitting Yourself

  The kit comes complete with a mounting system for tile roofs. It is simple to install (instructions are included), click on Roof Mounting System above for details.

  The panels have wires leading from them which are connected to the inverter and from there via a meter to the mains.

      - Self fitted systems may not be allowable for the Feed in Tariff

  We recommend at all times that you use qualified MCS accredited professionals to fit your system. It is more expensive but it comes with insurances and guarantees.

  WARNING

  You will be working with live electricity which can cause serious injury or death; this should only be carried out by trained professionals. If you fit the system yourself you will probably not be able to sell the excess electricity to the Electricity Suppliers nor gain any income from the ROC*s for systems below 50kw.

  We can only guarantee the parts and not the workmanship.
